Greg Quinn OBE

Greg Quinn left the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) in June 2024 after 29 years of service. Over those 29 years he served in: Estonia; Ghana; Belarus; Iraq; Washington DC (seconded to the State Department); Kazakhstan; and The Bahamas. From 2015-2020 he was High Commissioner (Ambassador equivalent) to Guyana and Non-Resident Ambassador to Suriname before serving as Consul General Toronto, then Consul General Calgary and finally Political Counsellor Ottawa in 2022 and 2023. His last overseas posting was in early 2024 as the Resident British Commissioner to Antigua and Barbuda.

Greg subsequently set up his own consultancy business, Aodhan Consultancy Ltd, which provides services to clients across a variety of project management, political analysis, risk management, and training areas.

Greg is an experienced Board member and is a Director of Scotways (the Scottish Rights of Way and Access Society–www.scotways.com). He is also a Director and Volunteer Secretary at GlenWyvis Distillery (Scotland’s only Community owned distillery–www.glenwyvis.com), and is a Member of the Governing Council at the Canada-UK Council.

In addition Greg serves as a Partner and Advisor to other consultancies including: Palisade Regional Advisors Inc in Guyana; Sabio: Latam Strategic Advisory in Brazil (www.sabiostrategy.com), and the United States based Transnational Strategy Group (www.transnationalstrategy.com).

Greg graduated with a Degree in International Politics and International History from the University of Wales in Aberystwyth and has a Masters in History from the Open University. Queen’s University Belfast awarded him an Honorary Doctorate in Law in 2019 for distinction in public services. Greg was awarded an OBE for services to British foreign policy in Her Majesty The Queen’s 2021 Birthday Honours.
